We’ve enjoyed having multiple Year 10 Work Experience placements and various summer internships for university students. Various members at LTC also study part-time to achieve their academic goals.

Richard Lever
Director; RICS

One of the three founding principles, Richard started his career at Tweedale Planning & Design Group and Mason Richards in Wolverhampton. Following university, he worked for multi-disciplinary practices such as Chesterton International, Fuller Peiser, King Sturge and ROC Associates in both Birmingham and Manchester. Following this, Richard joined Jim Cowdell and Paul Turner to establish Lever Turner & Cowdell Ltd.

Richard has worked predominantly in the commercial and care sectors in the adaptation and conversion of buildings for clients, developing a specialism with Listed Buildings and Heritage Assets.

Paul Turner
Director; RTPI

One of the three founding principles, Paul Turner began in career in 1984 within Planning and Architecture at practice Tweedale Planning & Design in Wolverhampton. He has since worked within South Staffordshire Council whilst studying part time for Masters in Town Planning. Paul moved to Shropshire Council in 1995 and was a Planning Team Manager until he left in 2002 to set up his own planning practice, which conjoined to set up Lever Turner & Cowdell. Paul specialises in all aspects of planning practice, urban design, and realisation of development potential through planning process, and provides design advice in the context of planning matters i.e. Conservation, Green Belt, special land use designations, and Planning Policy guidance. 

Jim Cowdell
Architectural Director

One of the three founding principles, Jim began his career in 1986 as a Junior Technician working for architects Jennings Homer & Lynch in Brierley Hill. He has since worked in various private architectural practices, gaining experience in the public sector on projects for the University of Wolverhampton, and within the commercial sector for DTZ, until he became an Architectural Manager for the development company Chase Midland PLC before their liquidation in 2008. Following this, Jim joined with Richard Lever and Paul Turner to establish Lever Turner & Cowdell Ltd. Jim continues to work closely on projects across a broad range of sectors and maintains new and existing client relationships.

Stacie Brookes
Senior Architectural Technologist; ACIAT

Stacie originally joined the practice in 2011 whilst completing her final year of study part-time in Architectural Technology at Sheffield Hallam University. After graduating in the Summer of 2013, Stacie has gained extensive knowledge throughout a broad range of sectors during her time at LTC. Stacie is an Associate Member of the CIAT, and her current role in the company is Office Manager where she oversees projects and manages the workload of the team. Stacie is now progressing to become a Chartered Architectural Technologist.

Jonathon Shermer
Assistant Architectural Technologist; Student

Jon started his career in the Summer of 2016 when he joined LTC straight out of High School. He first met the directors of the company during voluntary work experience at the age of 13. This progressed into an apprenticeship position after completing his GCSE’s. He has since completed a Level 3 BTEC in construction, and a Level 4 HNC in architectural studies. He is now completing his final year of his degree in Architectural Design Technology at the University of Wolverhampton. Jon is responsible for many of the architectural design projects, but also undertakes measured surveys and client meetings.

Will Lever
Trainee Building Surveyor; Student

Will joined LTC in 2019 after successfully completing a work experience placement following the completion of his A-Levels. Since then, he has completed his Level 4 HNC in architectural studies. Will is now studying Building Surveying at the University of Wolverhampton part-time. Since joining LTC, Will has developed numerous skills of which include; conducting measured surveys using a wide variety of technologies, equipment and software; drafting existing measured surveys; and developing proposals for projects.
